Seminar Short Desc | Due to its abstract nature, mathematics is not only hard to teach but also a difficult thing to learn. However, teaching literacy strategies in mathematics courses can help improve student learning. |
Seminar Full Desc | Literacy instruction can be intimidating for mathematics educators. The first day of the two-day series will address strategies for teaching reading, writing, and questioning in mathematics settings. Day two will transition from mathematics literacy to mathematically literate problem solvers. Over the course of the two days participants will learn numerous instructional strategies that can be implemented immediately. |
