Seminar Short DescOver 50 years of research shows that quality family engagement can prepare students for college, improve high school graduation rates and improve student achievement. Despite the significance of the research, many educators struggle with the meaning of family engagement. This workshop will explore the research and framework from Dr. Karen Mapp and address the difference between integrated family engagement and random acts of engagement.
Seminar Full DescFamily engagement is essential for school improvement and has been increasingly recognized as a fundamental element for proficient practice as an educator. This workshop will address what family engagement is, the research linked to positive educational outcomes and the implications for success of students and schools.
