Despite the significance of the research, many educators struggle with the meaning of family engagement. This workshop will explore the research and framework from Dr. Karen Mapp and address the difference between integrated family engagement and random acts of engagement. |

This workshop will address what family engagement is, the research linked to positive educational outcomes and the implications for success of students and schools. Participants will explore specific promising practices and create their own family engagement improvement plans. The workshop will also outline how to apply the learning to cultivate and sustain partnerships with families and caregivers. |
