Those attending should bring several paperbacks and hard covers in need of repair. |

- learn how to make books "shelf-ready" - practice the technique of breaking in a paperback and recovering for durability - understand the purposes of different adhesives and tapes - repair a torn page using correct method and adhesive strip - gain knowledge in correctly repairing the spine of a hard-covered book - utilize Demco products on books with specific repair needs |

- actively engage with the Demco presenter and materials as provided - gain practical experience that will extend the life of library materials - ask questions as it relates to various techniques being learned - identify and create a list of products that will be useful for book repair needs. (Demco is one of many vendors who provide book repair products.) |
