Seminar Full DescJoin us for an immersive 6-hour workshop where participants will delve into the dynamic world of play-based learning and its intersection with Computer Science and Digital Fluency (CSDF) Standards. Hosted by Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES, this session offers educators a unique opportunity to explore innovative play-based learning kits while identifying and understanding the connections to essential standards.

Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in hands-on activities using play-based learning kits curated by Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES. These kits are designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration among students. By immersing themselves in these activities, educators will gain firsthand experience of the power of play-based learning in fostering key competencies.

Moreover, participants will learn how to effectively integrate play-based learning into their curriculum while aligning with the CSDF Standards. Through guided discussions and interactive sessions, educators will identify and map out the connections between play-based activities and specific standards, ensuring a seamless integration of these approaches into their teaching practices.

By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how play-based learning can be leveraged to enhance student engagement and achievement in reaching the CSDF Standards. Armed with practical strategies and insights gained from this session, educators will be well-equipped to create enriching learning experiences that prepare students for success in the digital age.

To best reach educators across our large region, this session will be offered twice, once on September 24, 2024, at The Barn (Olean, NY) and a second time on January 28, 2025, at the Belmont BOCES CTE Center (Belmont, NY).
