Seminar Short DescHigh School science teachers will collaborate to shift and develop science lessons and curriculum to align with the new NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). A working understanding of NYSSLS is useful in order to develop 3-dimensional science lessons and discuss best practices in modern science instruction. It is recommended that all three sessions are attended to maintain continuity and collaborative connection.
Seminar Full DescHigh School science teachers will collaborate to shift and develop science lessons and curriculum to align with the new NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). A working understanding of NYSSLS is useful in order to develop 3-dimensional science lessons and discuss best practices in modern science instruction. Each session will begin with a new learning piece based on participant expertise, needs, interests, and concerns. The remainder of the workshop will be allotted for teacher collaboration time. It is recommended that all three sessions are attended to maintain continuity and collaborative connection. Participants will return to work together in a continuous cycle of collective expertise to develop 3-dimensional lessons and assessments to better serve their students.
