Seminar Short DescParticipants will be introduced to the Lab-Aids Kits that can be used to align middle school science classrooms to the new NYS science learning standards
Seminar Full DescParticipants will be introduced to the structure of the Lab-Aids curriculum. We will take a look at all of the online resources and learn how to order kits from our Learning Resources system. Please bring a device. We will explore the structure of a Lab-Aids Kit as participants are engaged in selected lessons from one of the kits. Participants will plan out their entire first unit with the kit of their choice available to them
Workshop Full DescParticipants will experience selected lessons and activities in three kits and get to interact with the materials and online resources. The morning of the first day will include a walkthrough of the structure of a Lab-Aids kit and all of the resources available to teachers, an overview of the new NYS Science Learning Standards, 3-dimensional learning, and use of the science lab notebook, and discussion of the Intermediate level NYS Science Investigations. That afternoon participants will experience selected lessons from a kit of their choice. On the second day we will be working with selected lessons from two other kits. By the end of the two days, teachers will have a complete background of the Lab-Aids kits and experience with a total of three kits that they will be using in their classes.
