for you! These trainings will highlight the new Science Kits with the New York State Science Learning Standards and how to implement them in your classroom. Trainings will cover background on the new science standards, the 5E instruction model, incorporating engineering, hands-on activities, and a general kit overview. Training will be done on the one kit being piloted at your grade level. |

| Public Notes | Thank you for your interest in attending the Science Kit Training for the Advancing STEM Curriculum. Advancing STEM, a complete STEM curriculum for grades K-5 developed together by CA BOCES and Erie 2 BOCES, is in the final stages of development and will be ready to help teachers transition from the current standards to the new standards. At this point, we are not quite ready to hold the workshops scheduled for January. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but assure you this training will be offered to prepare for the start of the next school year. A calendar of upcoming trainings - including unpacking of standards, an overview of the 5E process, discussion of the engineering design challenges, and Advancing STEM kit-specific roll outs - will be released by CA BOCES in the next week or two so teachers and administrators can attend these sessions. Again, we apologize for the delay, but want to make the best possible product for teachers and students as we transition into the Advancing STEM Curriculum. Thank you for your understanding. |
