Seminar Objectives1. To bring K-12 science teachers, school administrators and SBU science faculty together for a continuing discussion on bridging the gap between K-12 and college STEM education. Any challenges recognized from the discussion can lead to opportunities for networking and new partnerships between K-12 schools and SBU math and science departments and/or between K-12 schools for both short-term and long-term purposes.
2. To provide a hands-on experience for K-12 teachers to develop integrative lessons. These activities are designed to be transferable to K-12 classrooms to provoke student interests and increase their preparations in the STEM field that is in high demand.

Comments:
-Great examples for how and why excel can be used to model data
-Too much time in excel and not enough hands on experimentation
Still need:
-More time and support working with excel
-Action plan:
-Use the data sources and excel to have students explore real applications
