Seminar Full DescCultural proficiency is the ability and capacity to learn, work, and collaborate effectively with people from different cultures. While it may appear that rural school communities predominantly come from one culture, exploring our own cultures and the cultures of others moves us closer to ensuring all students have a sense of belonging in school.

This workshop will take an inside-out approach by first exploring our own cultural diversity, then moving to better understanding others' unique cultural make-up. We will then consider how mindfulness and cultural bridging can be powerful tools to ensure all learners feel they belong in our schools and classrooms.
