Seminar Short DescTeachers will receive kit-specific training on the Lab-Aids kits for the middle school grade level. This training is scheduled to feature an overview of all 16 kits. Teachers will have the ability to dive deeper into specific kits that are appropriate for their grade level.
Seminar Full DescParticipants will dig into the NYS Science Learning Standards, including the three dimensions, performance expectations, and engineering design aspects. The curriculum kits will be introduced and activities will be discussed and some performed. Additional activities will be done to apply the NY Science Learning Standards and three dimensions for each of the activities. Participants will leave understanding the structure of their grade level kit, hints and tips for teaching, and transforming lessons virtually. This training is scheduled to feature an overview of all 16 kits. We will be exploring Body Systems, Chemical Reactions, Chemistry of Materials, Earth s Resources, Ecology, Energy, Evolution, Fields and Interactions, Force and Motion, From Cells to Organisms, Geological Processes, Land Water and Human Interactions, Reproduction, Solar System and Beyond, Waves, and Weather and Climate.
