Join teachers from around the region for this full day workshop as we look at best practice and examine how to bring effective literacy instruction to your content-based classroom. You will leave with ready to use strategies! |
Seminar Full Desc | Many content area teachers are challenged by their student s reading levels and question how to best deliver high quality instruction to below grade level readers. This workshop will address literacy instruction through explicit vocabulary instruction, building background knowledge, fluency, structural analysis and more! Additional topics that will be discussed include student motivation, executive functioning skills, lifelong practices of readers and writers and discussion protocols. By the end of the day participants have a ready to use toolbox with literacy strategies that can be immediately bring effective content-based literacy instruction to life in their classroom. |
