| Seminar Short Desc | Access to the Internet and social media is at the fingertips of many students who are increasingly more savvy at using technology than their parents/caregivers. Developing teenage brains are especially challenging to educators since risk and impulsiveness are often related to emotions because judgment is not yet fully developed. This workshop aims to equip educators with tools they can use in helping students develop positive behavior as citizens in their living and virtual communities. |
| Seminar Full Desc | Students can often identify the appropriate behavior for a given situation, but brain and moral development often impede following through with proper action. Technology has dramatically changed the way students learn, interact, and participate in society. Providing students with opportunities for practicing digital citizenship and civic engagement equips them for potential leadership within the school, community, and society. |
