Workshop Full Desc | The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) of 2012 required school districts to create policies and guidelines to be used in school training programs. DASA discourages the development of discrimination or harassment and enables employees to prevent and respond to discrimination or harassment. An amendment to the law included the requirement that school professionals applying for a certificate or license after July 1, 2013 complete training on the social patterns of harassment, bullying, and discrimination.
CA BOCES has been approved by NYSED to offer six hours of DASA training to school professionals applying for certificates. This training is aligned to the syllabus required by NSYED. The CA BOCES DASA Certification Training is a hybrid learning model--three hours of online coursework and three hours of face-to-face coursework. We require participants to successfully complete the online portion prior to completing the face-to-face work. |
