Workshop Full DescThis workshop invites school librarians to step into a hands-on learning lab where exploration comes first, and practical application follows close behind. Participants will rotate through a curated collection of social-emotional learning (SEL) kits and STEM kits, engaging as learners while uncovering the instructional potential of each resource.
Through guided exploration, collaborative discussion, and structured planning time, librarians will identify natural connections between kit-based activities and curriculum goals across grade levels. The session emphasizes how libraries can serve as dynamic hubs for both SEL development (such as empathy, self-regulation, and collaboration) and STEM inquiry (including problem-solving, design thinking, and innovation).
After experiencing the kits firsthand, participants will transition into lesson design, using adaptable templates to create ready-to-implement instructional plans. By the end of the workshop, each librarian will leave with at least one fully developed lesson (and ideas for many more) that integrates hands-on kits into meaningful learning experiences.
