Workshop Full DescThis interactive professional development workshop is designed to equip educators, new and experienced alike, with the tools, mindsets, and strategies needed to thrive in today's schools. Participants will explore core principles of professionalism, relationship-building, trauma-informed practices, and educator wellness. Through discussion, collaborative activities, and scenario-based learning, attendees will deepen their understanding of effective communication, ethical boundaries, classroom management, and self-care. Whether you're navigating your first classroom or mentoring others, this workshop creates space for reflection, growth, and shared learning within the CA BOCES region.

This workshop is designed as a collaborative learning community (CLC) with 3 in-person sessions per year, with the possibility of some Zoom check-ins as well.

-Tuesday, August 19th at Southern Tier West (Salamanca)
- Tuesday, October 28th at Olean CTE Center, Training Room 1,2,3
- Monday, March 9th at Olean CTE Center, Training Room 1,2,3

Workshop ObjectivesBy the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of professional expectations, including dress, communication, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries with students, families, and colleagues.

Develop strategies to build positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

Apply effective conflict management and de-escalation techniques to maintain a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Design intentional classroom routines and physical environments that promote student engagement, safety, and academic success.

Implement self-care and wellness practices to support long-term educator effectiveness, personal balance, and resistance to burnout.
