Come work with professors from St. Bonaventure University and the University of Kentucky to learn how solar panels work. NYS standards will be the framework for learning how to integrate the hands-on labs into your classroom. The NYS Science Learning Standards, Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards, and Next Gen Math Learning Standards will be addressed as you discuss how to integrate the lessons into your classrooms. |
Workshop Audience | Generally geared toward secondary level STEM subject teachers with knowledge of NYSSLS. |
Workshop Prerequisites | Not set |
Workshop Objectives | Teacher will:
- learn the science for solar energy transformation and where it happens in daily life. - use computer models to understand how solar panels work - compare the mechanism and efficiency of energy transformation between nature's photosynthesis and solar panels |
Assessment of Learning | Teachers will:
- discuss and plan for classroom integration of ideas learned |
