Workshop Full DescFinding time for science in elementary education is always a struggle - but science is a natural fit for elementary aged children! Join this Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) to work on how to better integrate science into your students' lives. How can science work with other subjects? How can you get kids outside? How can you measure student growth in science? These questions will be addressed as you collaborate with other elementary teachers. Come with your questions for others that you'd like to learn from, and bring something you do best to share!

-Walk away with best practices from other elementary teachers.
-Find connections and overlap between science and other subject areas.
-Learn science concepts that might be unfamiliar, so they can feel more confident teaching them to students.
-Learn how to teach and assess the science and engineering practices.
Assessment of LearningParticipants will:
-Share best practices with other teachers.
-Develop activities to supplement their current science curriculum.
-Develop minilessons to explicitly teach the science practices.
-Develop formative and summative assessments for science.
-Curriculum map science into their school year plans.
