Workshop Full DescAny teacher, coach, coordinator, or administrator that would like information about the NYS Science Investigations is encouraged to attend. The most up-to-date information will be shared as well as recommendations for implementation. The first half of the morning will be dedicated to a general overview of the Investigations and their purpose and benefits. Then participants will have the opportunity to work set up an investigation as a teacher and work through the activity as a student. All questions will be answered and participants will leave with less anxiety and more confidence about this state requirement.

Workshop PrerequisitesIt would be helpful to have viewed the October 2022 NYSED memo (link in Brochure section) as well as the May 2022 NYSED memo (link included in October memo) regarding the Required Investigations.
Workshop ObjectivesParticipants will:
- review communicated information from the NYSED
- learn how to set up and administer the investigations
- discuss recommendations and modifications for implementation
- analyze the scoring rubrics to be prepared for assessing students
Assessment of LearningParticipants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the session but will also be provided a method to ask questions ahead of time and after, in order to conserve time during the online session.
