Workshop Full DescThis workshop is geared to bring High School Geometry teachers together to discuss important topics that will help their students excel in Geometry. Through collaboration with area teachers we hope to help share ideas to help think of new ideas to enhance students learning and to prepare for the Next Generation Mathematics Standards.
Workshop AudienceCurrent or aspiring High School Geometry teachers.
Workshop PrerequisitesNone.
Workshop ObjectivesParticipants will explore Common Core Learning Standards and the upcoming shift to Next Gen Learning Standards.
Participants will look at their Regents data to analyze strengths and weaknesses (with district approval).
Participants will share ideas on different ways to teach Geometry topics.
Assessment of LearningThe culminating ideas of what teachers can change moving forward for Geometry.
Any collaborative work created.
Follow up emails at the end of the summer or the beginning of the school year to assess any other needs.
