The Next Generation ELA Standards were adopted in September 2017. All of NYS has definitely experienced an "extended" rollout process; it's been 5 years!! Workshop Full DescPhase III/Full Implementation of the NYS PK-12 Next Generation ELA Standards is finally here: Sept. 2022. Are you Ready? The Next Generation ELA Standards were adopted in September 2017. All of NYS has definitely experienced an "extended" rollout process; it's been 5 years!! Because of the lengthy rollout and pandemic factors beyond our control, our team thought it would be beneficial to bring teachers together to review the Next Generation ELA Standards to be ready for fall 2022. The plan is to review what's similar and different between the Common Core and Next Generation ELA Standards; evaluate collective, grade-level specific resources, insights, and experiences; apply new learning and experience to individual or grade-level curriculum; and plan for instructional adjustments and ways to assess for understanding.
