Workshop Full DescThrough a global pandemic, racial discord, systemic inequities, school closures, and the rest of the challenges we've faced, one thing remains constant: our need to provide a safe space for students to learn and for educators to teach. As leaders, it's incumbent upon us to create and foster that environment. Join Pete Hall, former award-winning principal and co-author of Fostering Resilient Learners and Relationship, Responsibility, and Regulation, in an investigation of the approaches necessary to nurture a Culture of Safety in each of our settings. Over the four hours of virtual contact time with Pete, participants will obtain some critical information about childhood trauma, the impact of stress on developing brains, and ways to mitigate those effects while establishing a safe, predictable, and consistent environment for all. With detailed tools, templates, and protocols, you'll develop a deep understanding of key vocabulary, set yourself to cultivate a clear and compelling vision of trauma-invested practice, and build an array of strategies for generating consent and commitment from key stakeholders.
