Workshop Full Desc | Join us for a study of the craft of writing in a workshop-style approach in the classroom. Move your students beyond "test-response" and formulaic writing with strategies and foundations that support writing across the genres. We will explore ways to utilize the craft of writing to meet the needs of academic writing, while giving students the skills to become stronger writers by building in opportunities for students to learn to develop voice, purpose, and language sophistication along with other important features of good writing.
We will use writing research to build a strong foundation in the morning. Then, we will look to 6+1 Traits and The Writing Revolution to build foundations to support teaching writing and using writing as a thinking tool for analysis. |
