Workshop Full DescMany early childhood educators report feeling unprepared to meet the needs of students with challenging behaviors and develop safe and nurturing classroom environments. The pyramid model is a 4 day training that focuses on promoting the social and emotional development of children ages 3 to 5 in preventing challenging behaviors. The model is a comprehensive multi-tiered framework that is responsive to the needs of students, families, programs, and communities. The framework includes 4 levels of practice to address the needs of all children, including those with persistent challenging behaviors. Bring your early childhood team and learn how to create a framework that allows you time to teach developmentally appropriate behaviors for all students in your classroom.

Workshop PrerequisitesDay 1 and 2 must be completed prior to day 3 & 4.

- Understand the relationship between challenging behavior and social emotional development.
- Identify the importance of teaching social emotional skills.
- Understand the form and function of challenging behaviors.
- Create an action plan to support behavior in the classroom.
