Workshop Full DescThis workshop is designed for Pre-kindergarten- 2nd Grade teachers to participate in a Collaborative Learning Community focused on developmentally appropriate best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment aligned to the NYS Next Generation Standards. All participants will walk away with purposeful play-based instructional strategies in ELA, Math, SS, and Science. All NYSED updates will be presented at the CLC. Ideas and strategies will be ready to use when they return to their district.

Workshop ObjectivesParticipants will:
- Align curriculum based on the NYSED resource documents and the early learning domains.
- Understand the interrelated nature of developmental domains where learning in one area will influence another.
- Understand the importance of play and movement in promoting learning in the PK-2nd grade level bands.
- Explore and create interdisciplinary units of study.
Assessment of LearningParticipants will demonstrate learning through group discussions and small group activities.
