Workshop Full DescThis workshop is designed for Pre-kindergarten teachers to participate in a Collaborative Learning Community focused on best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment aligned to the NYS Next Generation Standards. All participants will walk away with instructional strategies in ELA, Math, SS, and Science. All NYSED updates will be presented at the CLC. Ideas and strategies will be ready to use when they return to their district.
Workshop AudiencePre-K Teachers
Workshop Objectives-Participants will review resources and guidance documents released by NYSED to support the curriculum and instruction with the New York State Next Generation Standards.
-Participants will understand the interrelated nature of developmental domains where learning in one area will influence another.
-Participants will understand the importance of play and movement in promoting learning.
-Participants will explore and develop STEM activities and curriculum integration appropriate for pre-kindergarten.
Assessment of LearningParticipants will demonstrate learning through group discussions and small group activities.
