Workshop Full Desc | Academic librarians recognize the lack of research skills acquired by incoming freshmen. A panel of academic librarians will discuss areas in need of strengthening and how high schools can better prepare students. This workshop aims to bring awareness to the importance of library and research instruction for academic success and participants will leave with a plan for scaffolding research skills in grades 7-12. |

Workshop Objectives | -Participants will increase knowledge about incoming academic students' inconsistencies and weaknesses in library skills and research skills.
-Participants will evaluate current practices in their schools. -Participants will edit and create a scaffold of research skills for grades 7-12. |
Assessment of Learning | Participants will be invited to ask questions and discuss ways to improve instruction to students as it relates to research skills. Working together, participants will create and leave with a finished document for discussing and implementing in their districts. |
