Seminar Objectives-Discuss the history of Integrated Academics in CTE. Provide an understanding of how we provide integrated academics to your students. Explain the Curriculum Approval/Re-approval Process. Observe an integrated academic lesson in action. Enlist assistance with the external review of the curriculum approval/re-approval process
Work Summary-We provided a presentation on the history of Integrated Academics and the current model utilized
-We also broke into groups to observe a lesson in Math, Science or ELA
-After observing, our participants had a chance to debrief with the Math, Science and ELA teachers
Assessment of Learning-We provided them the ISS evaluation form, as well as had them fill out a Microsoft Forms survey to provide us with suggestions on future integrated academic days and to provided other feedback
Evaluation Summary Notes-Participants really understood the model/concept of Integrated Academics
-Participants felt more prepared to explain integrated academics to their students during scheduling
-Participants were willing to participate in our external review or go back to their districts and enlist assistance
Needed Changes-Participants wanted to see all three areas of Integrated Academics
-Participants suggested hosting a day where Math, Science and ELA teachers from component school can collaborate and work on external review
Next Steps-Plan a day for Math, Science and ELA teachers to come in and complete external review
-Brainstorm ways to have people observe multiple lessons (perhaps one in the AM, one in the PM)
-Evaluate how to get more participants from component districts to attend
