Seminar Topics, Concepts & Resources-Participants worked in grade level and small content groups investigating the Social Studies Framework, Practices and Tasks
-Participant small groups were given resources and tasks that matched the NYS Framework and aligned to their group
Seminar Broadcast NotesNot set
Seminar Objectives-Participants will examine assessment released items from NYSED and compare these tasks to current practice and student tasks
-Participants will examine the Global II and US History Framework regents results and learn about data reports available in Data Warehouse
Work Summary-Participants were given examples of the way in which NYS will assess student work in US History with the NEW Framework US History and Government regents
-Participants examined student performance tasks and discussed and explored instructional approaches to increase student performance
Assessment of Learning-Participants examined assessment examples from NYS and compared to their instructional materials
-Participants identified student strengths and weaknesses
Evaluation Summary Notes-Question asked as to why they have not seen these reports before.

-Teachers left our time together having a better understanding of state expectations surrounding the new Framework exam and ways to assess their students in accordance with the performance tasks
Needed Changes-More focused instruction surrounding vocabulary
-Time for conversations
Next Steps-Continue to follow up during the school year to ensure that teachers are familiar and aware of ways that assessment can take place
