Seminar Objectives-Participant shared an email with teachers letting them know facilitator would be available for the day. Learning outcomes included discussing the middle school's non-fiction section: discussing the new hire for the elementary library: ensuring an updated library policy and procedure manual; informing school leaders about the library program; and NY regs on school librarians and summer school. A fourth grade Spanish teacher received resources to help her deliver instruction to students
Work Summary-Participant showed facilitator the library's non-fiction section that is in need of updating. Facilitator recommended she speak with Jim Hopper (Gumdrop Books) since he makes it very easy to purchase from a variety of vendors. Participant asked a lot of questions (NY Regs: P&P manual, elem. library staff, promoting fiction) and those that facilitator needed to follow-up on, facilitator did in an email the next day. The fourth grade Spanish teacher was shown how to access resources through insignia. As they discussed her instructional needs, facilitator realized it would be necessary to reach out to our DL teacher Ed Cruz for additional resources
