Seminar Short Desc | This session will provide an overview, understanding & resources for the 2019 NYS Law, Erin's Law. Erin's Law requires public schools to teach child sexual abuse and exploitation prevention classes to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Erin's Law, named after Erin Merryn, an abuse survivor and activist, is intended to help teachers, parents & students identify sexual abuse, provide awareness, assistance, referral and resource information to victims of sexual abuse. |
Seminar Full Desc | This session will provide an overview, understanding & resources for the 2019 NYS Law, Erin's Law. Erin's Law requires public schools to teach child sexual abuse and exploitation prevention classes to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Erin's Law, named after Erin Merryn, an abuse survivor and activist, is intended to help teachers, parents & students identify sexual abuse, provide awareness, assistance, referral and resource information to victims of sexual abuse. This workshop will explore the phase II of implementation within the school setting, allow for districts to collaborate and learn from one another about current efforts in accordance with Erin's Law. District participants and teams will also have time to review resources and explore next steps for implementation within the context of their school setting. |
