Seminar Full DescAlthough there is a great deal of uncertainty around how and when schools will re-open in the fall, the role that SEL will play in that transition will be critical. Especially so, as we navigate the complex and varying impact that the pandemic has left in its path. This session is designed to support school leaders and leadership teams in the transition planning process by providing actionable recommendations that support student and adult SEL needs.

Seminar Objectives1.) Focus on emotional self-regulation and the procedures that allow students to recognize and handle emotions.
2.) Explore strategies for building relationships such as check-in, class norms, getting to know you, and coping strategies.
3.) Encourage participants to start troubleshooting potential areas of weakness should we go back to a virtual environment.

-Utilized breakout rooms to share and discuss classroom agreements

Assessment of Learning-We utilized an exit ticket for participants to complete "Something that I need to prepare differently because of last spring is..."
Evaluation Summary Notes-Participants liked the resources and deep breathing exercises.
-A few participants would have liked to go deeper into the SEL content and would have liked more differentiation. Unfortunately, we had a range from PK-12th grade teachers, Title 1 Teachers, Support Staff, etc.
-Deep breathing exercises to calm students, taking time the first week to focus on SEL needs, building a calm down space in the room and virtually.
-A lot of the questions were district specific about reopening plans and MH workers.
-comment - Sad that the negative feedback received came from a participant who only attended for apex 45 mins. I wish they would have communicated with me their needs at the time so I could have differentiated better for them. Sadly, its much easier to h
