Seminar Short Desc | Mental Health First Aid is a 6-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses. |
Seminar Full Desc | Most definitions of first aid include an iteration of "immediate and temporary help, emergency care, or treatment given to an injured or ill person before professional medical care is available." The goals of Youth Mental Health First Aid USA are twofold-to teach members of the public how to respond in a mental health emergency with youth and young adults and to offer support to a young person who appears to be in emotional distress. Participants will acquire the basic knowledge and skills to respond to a young person in distress. |
