| Seminar Objectives | Bring K-12 science teachers, school administrators and SBU science faculty together for a continuing discussion on bridging the gap between K-12 and college STEM education. Any challenges recognized from the discussion can lead to opportunities for networking and new partnerships between K-12 schools and SBU math and science departments and/or between K-12 schools for both short-term and long-term purposes.
Provide a hands-on experience for K-12 teachers to develop integrative lessons. These activities are designed to be transferable to K-12 classroom to provoke student interests and increase their preparations in the STEM field that is in high demand. |
