Seminar Full Desc-This workshop engaged K 5 teachers in deepening their understanding of New York State Numeracy Brief #6, with a focus on using representations and manipulatives to strengthen math instruction. Teachers explored a variety of hands-on manipulatives through guided demonstrations and grade-level examples, collaborated to brainstorm classroom applications, and learned how to borrow materials from Learning Resources. Participants also examined helpful online tools, including the CABOCES math resources page and New York State released questions, and applied their learning by planning lessons aligned to Into Math. Overall, the session emphasized practical strategies for supporting conceptual understanding through purposeful use of representations.
