Identify systemic barries that impact students' academic performance attendance behavior and family engagment. -Apply trauma-imformed and culturally responsive strategies to better support students and families affected by economic hardship. |
| Work Summary | A Poverty Simulation is an interactive professional development experience designed to help educators understand the realities of living with limited financial resources. Participants role-play individuals and families navigating real-life scenarios such as employment, housing, transportation, healthcare, and education. Throughout this immersive experience educators gain insight into how economic stressors influence dicision-making, behavior, and access to opportunities. Strengthening their ability to create supportive, equitable learning environments for all students. |
