Seminar Full DescIn August 2026, Ellin Oliver Keene, founder of Mosaic Literacy, will facilitate a dynamic professional learning experience for middle and high school science and ELA teachers focused on the literacy demands of NYSED updated summative assessments.
Day 1 (5-8, and Regents Science Teachers):
Supporting students with the reading comprehension, vocabulary, and written response demands
Day 2 (6-12 ELA Teachers):
Strengthening students' capacity to read, think, and write across complex texts, including vocabulary development & depth of understanding; supports the "NYSED Literacy Initiative: The Secondary Years"
Day 3 (participants from days 1 and 2)
Facilitated time for designing instruction, implementing Ellin Keene's work individually and/or with regional colleagues (Ellin will not be facilitating Day 3)
