| Work Summary | Participated in a simulation of a cross-content inquiry-based learning experience, modeling how students engage with ELA and Social Studies content through collaborative legend exploration.
Experienced a variety of engagement strategies firsthand, including visual storytelling, role-based group work, peer coaching, and creative choice, all designed to foster curiosity and deeper inquiry. Explored and applied formative assessment techniques such as sticky note exit questions, mini-conferences, graphic organizers, rubric previews, and peer feedback to monitor and support student learning throughout the inquiry process. Engaged with a Choice Board of creative formats to showcase mastery, including podcasting, comic creation, live storytelling, and digital timelines highlighting how student voice and choice can be embedded in assessment. |
| Assessment of Learning | Group Pitch Presentations: Each group delivered a 1-minute pitch explaining their chosen legend and creative retelling format, demonstrating understanding and planning.
Gallery Walk Feedback: Teachers provided and received peer feedback using Two Stars and a Wish, showcasing engagement and critical reflection. Exit Ticket Reflection: Participants completed a One Word Reflection and responded to prompts about their learning, which were used to assess comprehension and inform future PD sessions. |
