Topics explored will include summarizing present levels of performance, writing measurable goals, identifying accommodations and modifications, progress monitoring, data interpretation, and reporting progress. |

Seminar Objectives | -Focused on developing participants' ability to write measurable and legally compliant IEP goals that align with students present levels of educational performance (PLEP)
-Participants learned how to apply indicator 13 compliance by ensuring transition - aged students have appropriate postsecondary goals and aligned services. Through engaging with case study actitivites, participants practiced analyzing student data to create meaningful, student-centered IEP goals while collaborating with colleagues to refine and improve their work |
Work Summary | -Training included a combination of direct instruction, hands-on application and collaborative workshop activities. Session began with an overview of best practices for goal writing.
-Participants engaged in a case study , where they were given detailed student profiles containing background information, strengths, needs and assessment data. -Working in teams they developed SMART, measurable goals and ensured that transition goals met compliance -Participants wrote or revised IEP goals individually, applying their learning to practical scenarios -A peer review component allowed teams to evaluate each other's work using a structured checklist, fostering discussion and a deeper understanding of best practices |
Assessment of Learning | -Participants completed a self-reflection to evaluate thier confidence in their ability to analyze student data and develop appropriate goals
-Throughout the session observations provided real-time feedback on discussions and goal development -Participants shared a revised IEP goal they created, demonstrating their ability to apply best practices independently |

Needed Changes | -It would be beneficial to communicate with the district a little bit more beforehand to ensure alignment with existing training and avoid overlapping or conflictinf information
-Additionally grouping participants more intentionally could make the content more relevant to their specific roles |
