Seminar Short DescGrade 4 teachers will experience selected lessons and activities in the kits and get to interact with the materials and online resources in addition to an overview of the new NYS Science Learning Standards, 3-dimensional learning, and the 5E lesson structure.
Seminar Full DescGrade 4 teachers will experience selected lessons and activities in the kits and get to interact with the materials and online resources. There will be a walkthrough of the structure of an Advancing STEM kit and all of the resources available to teachers. An overview of the new NYS Science Learning Standards, 3-dimensional learning, and the 5E lesson structure will be provided. Participants will take a look at vertical progressions of the 3-dimensions between grade bands and discuss interdisciplinary crossover options for the kits. Participants will also learn about the new Required Investigations released by NYS and how to incorporate them into the Advancing STEM Kits curriculum.
