Seminar Full DescThis workshop sequence, based on The Writing Revolution 2.0, scaffolds the transition from oral language to summary writing through four progressive objectives. It begins with oral sentence expansion (using Because/But/So) to build syntactical stamina, followed by using question words to orally isolate key information. Participants then practice converting notes into verbal structures via the Single-Paragraph Outline (SPO) before finally synthesizing these ideas into formal written summaries using sentence combining and appositives.
Ultimately, this scaffolding provides teachers with a roadmap to move students from foundational oral responses to high-level paragraphs and essays.
