Work SummaryUsing the results from a collection analysis, Laura and I approached several non-fiction sections in the elem library to check title for outdated content and condition. I asked her to comment on why I chose some books for weeding and then we discussed. When she commented that some books do not circulate, I shared some marketing strategies that can help determine awareness, interest, and teacher usability. Laura independently generated reports and successfully navigated Follett's site, created shopping cart, and selected titles to replace some that were pulled for discard.
Assessment of LearningLaura effectively selected titles based on outdated content. Laura was receptive of marketing strategies and developed an awareness of how products (books) need to be 'sold' to teachers and students and how 'selling' is easy to do with the right intention. She successfully created carts and selected titles with updated content to compliment standards and students' interests.
