| Seminar Short Desc | Attendees will receive a user-friendly version of their district's Preliminary ESSA data for the 2025 26 school year. The morning presentation will include an overview of the current ESSA accountability landscape in New York State, facilitated discussions focused on effectively communicating ESSA data to Boards of Education and building-level leaders, and time for collaborative brainstorming. Following the presentation, participants may choose to remain for optional, individualized support. |
| Seminar Full Desc | This workshop provides New York State school administrators with a clear, practical overview of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) accountability system and how it applies to district and building-level decision-making.
Participants will build a shared understanding of how NYSED calculates ESSA accountability using multiple measures including academic achievement, student growth, graduation rates, chronic absenteeism, English Language Proficiency, and College, Career, and Civic Readiness. The session emphasizes how subgroup performance drives accountability designations and highlights the equity lens embedded in New York s ESSA framework. Administrators will be guided through an ESSA-aligned data dashboard, designed to make complex accountability data accessible, actionable, and transparent. Using real district data, participants will examine trends, identify strengths and areas for growth, and explore how attendance, achievement, and opportunity gaps intersect. The workshop concludes with a focus on actionable next steps, supporting administrators in using ESSA data to inform strategic planning, MTSS supports, instructional priorities, and resource allocation while keeping equity and whole-child outcomes at the center of the conversation. Participants are also invited to remain for optional afternoon support, offering individualized time to develop materials for building-level meetings and Board of Education presentations. |
