Seminar Broadcast NotesThis event (hosted by Cece Fuoco, Brian Mayer, and Eileen Anderson), will take place at West Seneca Public Library Community Room, 1300 Union Road, West Seneca NY. Registration and networking is 9:00-9:30 with a prompt start at 9:30. Plan to bring a charged device. Lunch is included and you will receive a free copy of Dr. Rogow's book Media Literacy for Young Children. This event is scheduled to end at 3:00. Attendance for CA BOCES is capped at 15 with a waiting list if necessary.
Seminar ObjectivesThis workshop supports NYSED's Media Literacy Toolkit and as a result of this workshop, participants will:
- learn what media literacy is and what is in the Toolkit
- gain new strategies for teaching media literacy to elementary students
- gain new strategies for teaching media literacy to ms/hs students
- participate in conversations with colleagues and evaluate resources
- discover how resources within the Information Fluency Continuum supports media literacy
