Assessment of Learning-Participant was able to identify the key instructional shifts within the NYSSLS Standards in both the Advancing STEM kits as well as the Science Investigations. She was then able to develop/modify a curriculum map that would best suite the needs for her 3-5 self contained classroom
Evaluation Summary Notes-Participant indicated she had a clearer understanding of the NYSSLS stands and how to embed the practices and cross-cutting concepts into instruction. She also felt confident to administer the science investigations in an environment where students in multiple grade levels are present
Needed Changes-Participants would like to continue to communicate with myself or Kelli Grabowski throughout the year in case adjustments need to be made as well as to dive deeper into content. Today's session had to be Big Picture in order to be ready for students in the next couple of weeks so we were unable to review details
Next Steps-Preview and train on Advancing STEM kits and develop a regional plan for implementing Science Investigations to a multi-grade level classroom
