Workshop Full DescThe Special Education/Academic Intervention CLC will provide a collaborative community for teachers (kindergarten through high school) including special education teachers, academic intervention specialists and inclusion teachers. Together we will research and share best practices for providing interventions and ways to meet the needs of our students. This collaborative learning community will provide opportunities to learn from each other and support for the challenges educators are facing while working to close achievement gaps. The information and feedback we receive from our participants will drive future seminars.

Workshop Objectives1. The participants will learn best practices in working with special education students and providing intervention for students not meeting grade level expectations.
2. The participants will collaborate with other special education teachers, academic intervention specialists, and inclusion teachers in seeking out strategies and support in providing the best services possible for the students they serve.
3. The participants will learn, practice and share best intervention strategies and techniques for working with students needing academic intervention and with mild to moderate learning disabilities and behavior difficulties.
